In the summer of 2012,
two kayak
expeditioners will cross the Arctic ocean, from
Iceland to Greenland. This will be the first time
this is done by kayak.
Having arrived in a remote, uninhabited wilderness on Greenland's east
coast, they will then
paddle 300 nautical miles along the ice covered coast until they reach
habitation.
|
Duration:
4 to 6 weeks,
including up to 10 days on the open sea.
Distance: 500 nm. |
The team will be
unsupported and not aiming at any kind of a time record, while
leaning on
a responsible backup plan.
